We’ll have a typical summer stretch through the weekend, with temperatures back above 90 degrees and pop-up storms possible.

What You Need To Know

  • Heat builds slowly into the weekend
  • For most, expect highs in the low to mid-90s
  • Pop-up storms are possible through the weekend, but it will not be a washout

After an unseasonably cool and refreshing start to August, we are back to reality this weekend! By Friday, most of the state will see highs warm into the mid-to-upper 80s.

It’s a sunny day Friday, with mainly dry conditions expected.

Pop-up chances arrive by Saturday with a hotter forecast. Highs by Saturday push the 90s mark for most of the state! As the heat and humidity build during the afternoon and early evening hours, there will be pop-up storms developing.

Widespread chances for storms range from 20-40% so coverage isn’t too widespread.

However, some storms may turn gusty and bring a downpour of rain with lightning.

On Sunday, chances for pop-up storms linger, but it isn’t as high as Saturday.

It’s still hot and humid through Sunday afternoon with highs back into the low to mid-90s.

A muggy weekend

The muggy meter pushes upward this weekend and remains uncomfortable, with higher humdity even into early next week.
