CLEVELAND — In anticipation for what the airline industry hopes will be a busy summer travel season, United Airlines will add several routes to and from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport starting next week.

The five routes from Cleveland will go to popular tourist spots. The new Cleveland routes will run three times a week to Charleston, S.C., Hilton Head, S.C., Myrtle Beach, S.C., Pensacola, Fla. and Portland, Maine. The routes begin operating Memorial Day Weekend.

Other major Ohio airports will also see added United routes as well.

Columbus’ John Glenn International Airport will have three additional routes a week to Charleston, S.C., and four routes a week to Hilton Head, S.C. and Portland, Maine.

Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky International Airport will welcome the addition of three weekly routes to Charleston, S.C., Hilton Head, S.C., Pensacola, Fla. and Portland Maine.

Recent TSA data shows that the daily number of travelers is up to 70% compared to pre-pandemic levels.
