  • Herberholz has donated around $4,000

He takes on many projects, from forging furniture to other designs.

“My favorite thing is whatever the next thing that I’m not doing is,” Herberholz said.

But his latest project is unlike any other.

He got the idea for it when he learned about the connection between the song “65 Roses” and the genetic disorder Cystic Fibrosis on the radio.

“When I heard the song, I thought, ‘I could do that, I could do something.”

Herberholz came up with the goal to make and sell 65 metal roses and donate $20 of each sale to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

So far, he’s raised $4,000.

“I personally have no immediate connection to anybody with cystic fibrosis so just the pictures and emails people are sending me with their kids with cystic fibrosis. I just can’t not keep doing it,” he said.

Herberholz said he plans to continue his efforts every February.
