Task force offers reward for inmates who escaped a northern Ohio correctional facility

ELYRIA, Ohio — The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information that would help locate two men who escaped a northern Ohio correctional facility on June 29. 

Inmates Kevin McKitrick, 35, and Justin Hamilton, 21, broke a window and escaped Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility, the Lorain sheriff’s office said in a press release.

A woman was waiting for them outside in a truck, and that woman has since been arrested, according to authorities. Her identity remains unknown. 

Hamilton is serving time for tampering with evidence and McKitrick for aggravated robbery.

Hamilton is around 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds with black hair and green eyes. McKitrick is 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds with light brown/blond hair and hazel eyes.

The task force didn’t disclose the amount of reward money available.
