TOLEDO, Ohio — The search for 3-year-old Braylen Noble came to a tragic end Wednesday afternoon after Toledo police and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office confirmed they found his body in a nearby pool.
Noble, who was believed to be nonverbal and had autism, was reported missing Friday, Sept. 4 from the 3400 block of Gibraltar Heights Drive in Toledo.
The Toledo Blade reported the boy’s grandmother said he jumped from a window on the third floor and went missing. She continued to search around the area and then called 911.
Police said they searched around multiple buildings, areas and under cars. The Blade also reported the police searched the same pool Noble was found in multiple times the day he went missing.
On Friday, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office posted on its website that Noble showed no “anatomic cause of death and no gross evidence of trauma.” The statement also says drowning hasn’t been ruled out as a cause of death.
Noble’s mother and grandmother were seen escorted from the building but were not wearing handcuffs.
Toledo police are now considering it a death investigation and is ongoing.
