AKRON, Ohio — Spectrum News 1 brings you our Voices for Change series, where activists, leaders, and community members share what has brought them to action and how addressing racial discrimination will create a better world for everyone.
The voices of artists are stronger when they are together; that’s the mantra of Akron’s Vibe Collective, a tight-knit group of artist/activists working for equality in northeast Ohio.
“The work I do primarily in the city, or am trying to do, is facilitate a community of artists that are change makers, are in community, have work that’s around art culture education, and we’re trying to make spaces for community transformation and healing,” said Amber Cullen, of Vice Collective.
