Rain, rain go away! More showers along with gloomy skies continued through Monday. Showers taper off as the low pressure system swirls out of the Ohio valley heading into Tuesday so until then there’s a chance for light passing showers especially in NE Ohio.

What You Need To Know

  • Scattered showers continue this evening
  • We see brighter skies on Tuesday
  • The coolest day this week will be Thursday

Skies dry out for the most part by Tuesday with partly sunny conditions expected. Tuesday morning is cool with lows in the 40s, and temperatures are seasonal Tuesday afternoon with low to upper 60s. Our forecast improves Tuesday so take the chance to get outside and enjoy the day.

Tomorrow will also be our warmest day this week. Tuesday night temperatures fall back into the 40s.

Midweek rain chances return, but it won’t be anything heavy or widespread. It’s a quick moving system that will bring scattered showers possible. Best areas to see rain Wednesday will be in southern/mid Ohio. Highs top off in the upper 50s to low 60s with mostly cloudy skies.

The system midweek moves out quickly as Thursday looks drier, however, the flood gates open to even ‘colder’ air Thursday. Frost is possible Thursday morning and Friday morning with lows later this week dropping down into the 30s!

Planting Prep & Patience Needed

So prepping the yard and garden this week, you’ll want to cover or bring some sensitive plants inside with colder air later this week. Or hold off until after Mother’s Day!

Typically this time of year, on average, we’ll have our last freeze (32 or colder) of the spring season. Throughout the state last freeze dates (on average) are late April through early May.
